Lindy Hop
Rachel grew up studying tap dance, studio jazz, ballet, and contemporary at a competition dance studio in California. They began as a teacher's assistant at age 12, eventually going on to teach tap dance classes and choreograph multiple staged pieces while earning her BA in Dance at UW.
In her senior year at UW, Rachel took a lindy hop class for the first time and was instantly hooked by its rhythm, connection, and playfulness. She has been digging deep into lindy hop and authentic jazz dance ever since. Rachel's known for their exploratory dance style, driven by their love of conversational improvisation and musical expression.
As a teacher, Rachel prioritizes helping students find their individuality through deepening their understanding of their own movement mechanics and exploring historical figures in jazz dance and music who can inspire them.
