Zouk

Val’s dance training in Bellydance and Lambada has had a big influence on her passion for Zouk. Her dance journey started in 2012, where she was training and performing with the Tribal Fusion Belly Dance troupe in the Bay Area. Upon her return to Seattle in 2013, she took a liking in social dances such as Salsa, Bachata and Tango, and soon fell in love with Brazilian Zouk. In 2016, she discovered Lambada, the origin of Zouk and started her intensive Lambada training with artists from the US and Brazil. Over the last two years, she has won competitions and performed at various Zouk and Lambada congresses in the U.S. and abroad. She is the champion of the Zouk 16 Competition in Mexico in 2019 and the director of the Zouk Babes Team in Seattle.

She loves cultivating freedom, confidence, and connection through dance. She believes that everyone was born knowing how to dance and instead of learning it as a new skill, what we need to do is to simply unleash our innate capacity to dance. She is excited to share her Zouk and Lambada knowledge and celebrate the dancers in all her students.
