Justin Collins

Justin began his journey in Brazilian Zouk and Lambada after discovering it in a Kizomba social back in 2016. Since then he has trained with countless professionals, received teaching certifications from the Ramalho's, ZenZouk (Ryel and Jessica), Brick (Bruno and Raiza), Zouk Needs You (Val and Vanessa), and even completed a week long teachers immersion course for Brazilian Zouk in Rio with Jaime Aroxa and Kiri Chapman. In 2018, he began teaching more regularly in the DC Metro Area with Mimi Mariposa. As he became more in demand as a Brazilian Zouk DJ, he started teaching only at select congresses, and focused mostly on DJing for Brazilian Zouk as a digital nomad. Now that he is based out of Seattle, he has rediscovered his passion for teaching at SCT - specifically focusing on bringing different kinds of learning content with his partner Michelle Grasso. This different kind of content is typified in series classes like “Expanding your vocabulary with variations” and “Creating Flow with Safe and Comfortable Head Movement." You can find him teaching series classes like these, teaching drop-ins before Friday Socials at SCT, or performing locally or even internationally as a well known Brazilian Zouk and Lambada DJ under the name “DJ Rx.”
