Christine Schwartz
Christine was born and raised here in Washington state, where she has been classically
trained in many styles of dance. At the age of three she was dancing ballet, jazz, and
tap.
She danced as a soloist with Cameo Dance Company in Seattle continuing her training in
ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern, and theatre dance until age seventeen. It was at the end of
her classical training that Christine took her first salsa lesson and decided that she wanted
to challenge herself with partner dancing.
Christine worked with Johnny Bravo and her ballet background friend Phillip Laue to
compose a salsa routine and compete for her first Congress in 2005, only months after she
started dancing salsa.
Within the salsa community Christine taught and performed with Somos El Son Dance
Company and graduated to choreographing and performing numerous times with Vassili
with his band Children of the Revolution. Also notably Christine performed in the
Salsa/Ballroom section of "Dance THIS!" at the paramount working with Vanessa Villalobos
and Brian Jolly for the show.
She took time away from dance to finish her degree in Psychology at the University of
Washington, and now has the time and excitement to be back teaching, choreographing,
and loving dance with Salsa Con Todo.
